Sun ProtectionCertain natural vegetable oils and essential oils have been found to provide some protection against the sun. Sesame oil can block or reduce about 30% of the burning rays; coconut and olive oils about 20%, and aloe vera inhibits about 20%. Helichrysum oil has been researched for its ability to effectively screen out some of the sun’s rays.

Sunscreen:

1 oz. sesame oil,

1/2 oz. coconut oil,

1/2 oz. olive oil,

10 drops Helichrysum, 5 drops Lavender, 3 drops Chamomile.  Mix and  apply.

Another Recipe:

4 oz of avocado oil

30 drops of lavender

Mix and apply before going out in the sun.

I’ve found before, that mixing around 1oz of Ningxia Red with basic lotion into a 20ml jar and applying it around 1/2 hour before going into the sun [very bright summer sun seems to be needing extra protection] has proved for me not to get any sunburn.
Also on bright summer days, when the skin begins to get a bit reddish applying the same mixture, means that the redness disappeared within a very short time.
Only thing to remember is to keep the mix in the fridge or other place cool.
It’s also great for keeping the skin soft.

I’m going to try it this summer.

    Thanks, Michael
